The Story so far...

The end of 2010 to present has been an exciting time in the history of G Smyth Boats.

Each boat is unique and a symbol of the hard and dedicated work of the company.

2011 was a busy year for G Smyth Boats. In June 2011, G Smyth Boats had the task of refitting Brian Cunningham’s 10metre Catamaran, Rian John which capsized in Carlingford Lough. The company also carried out a refit on the Boy Joseph, a 9 metre wooden vessel owned by Kevin and Kieran Trainor.

Since mid 2011, G Smyth has taken orders for 3 complete builds of the GM7M. This boat is turning out to be a popular design with inshore fishermen. The complete builds are heading to, Mr. Freddy Aesaret of Belguim and Mr. Charles Beukels of Lombardsijde, Belgium and the third one is for Caspian Shellfish of Tongue Scotland.

G. Smyth Boats is also completing a tosher for Mr. John Johnston of Achill Island, Mayo.

2011-2014 has seen another 18 GM7M's being constructed as well as the development of 2 new sized moulds.

The Maxus 9.8m was constructed in 2012. The first boat was commissioned by Cavankee Fishing Company, Donegal, Ireland. The Helen Mary was built to an exceptional spec and now fishes off the Donegal Coast. The second boat was commissioned by Robert Morgan of Salt Sea Ltd. Robert and his wife Rosalind Tate Morgan were very specific about their boats requirements and worked closely with G Smyth Boats to achieve this ready for fishing out of Fraserburgh in 2013.

During a busy year of boat building a Maxus 8.3m mould was constructed and has proved popular with 4 hulls ordered in a matter of weeks after it's launch.
